Dr. Gilad Almogy brings more than a decade of experience leading global technology organizations. Prior to founding Cogenra, Dr. Almogy was a senior vice president at Applied Materials (AMAT), in charge of the Display and Thin Film Solar Products business segment. Dr. Almogy joined Applied Materials in 1997 through the acquisition of Orbot Instruments and went on to become the General Manager of its’ PDC (Process Diagnostics and Control) Business Group in 2000. Throughout his career Dr. Almogy has initiated, led the development of, and brought to market, advanced technology products generating billions of dollars in revenue.

Mr. Almogy is the inventor of over 30 registered US patents and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the California Institute of Technology and a BSc in Physics and Mathematics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel.

Pierre Lamond is a general partner at Khosla Ventures. As a pioneer in the semiconductor industry, Lamond oversaw the development of advanced high-frequency transistors and the first generation of digital integrated circuits at Fairchild Semiconductor. In 1967, Mr. Lamond cofounded National Semiconductor Corporation. Ten years later, he assumed the role of chief technology officer and vice president, general manager of Advanced Products.

Before joining Khosla Ventures, Lamond was a general partner at Sequoia Capital. He currently serves on the board of directors at Skybox Imaging, Point Source Power, SEEO and Soladigm in addition to Cogenra. A native of France, Mr. Lamond graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and Master of Science degree in physics from Toulouse University.

Dr. Dan Maydan is former president of Applied Materials and member of the board of directors from 1992 to 2006. During his decade tenure as president, Dr. Maydan spearheaded the commercialization of critical processing technologies for semiconductor manufacturing. Smithsonian Institution has inducted his work into its collection of breakthrough technologies, which have helped shape society and the modern world.

Dr. Maydan received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. in physics from Edinburgh University in Scotland. In addition to Cogenra Solar, Dr. Maydan is on the board of directors at Solyndra, Cambrios, Infinera Corporation and EFI. Dr. Maydan is also a member of the Technion’s board of governors and academic committee and is a trustee and chair of the research committee at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation.
